Another massively talented pal of (too) many years’ standing, the original Zen Buddha Boot Boy, the Bermondsey Joyrider himself, a veteran of Cock Sparrer and the Little Roosters, slide guitarist extraordinaire, punk-blues maestro … ladies and gentlemen … Gaaaaaaary Lammin!
Before Gary formed The Bermondsey Joyriders in response to gig offers from the US, we did a few gigs together as The Poor White Hound Dogs, playing a short solo set each and then teaming up for the finale. This comes from a show at Filthy McNasty’s in Islington, North London, near where I lived between the early ’70s and mid-’90s. We’d just heard that the mighty Bo Diddley was ailing so we whipped up this medley of ‘Bo Diddley’ and ‘Who Do You Love’ to close the (reasonably riotous) evening.
